Healthy Schools Theatre in Education

Captain Carrot and friends were delighted to meet Gaynor Mansell regional co-ordinator for the Health Promoting Schools Programme recently. Gaynor wrote the following review of the show...
The performance was very professional and Simon has an excellent rapport with the audience.
Healthier eating messages were shared in a fun way that were accurate and informative. I particularly liked the 'balanced, sensible approach' to food that was portrayed rather than the damming of anything that wasn't green!
There were also welcome references to the origins/growing of fruit and vegetables - something that is often overlooked/not realised by children. Interactive fun and exciting visual effects ensured engagement. The children were captivated throughout. Messages and script (which can be adapted for different audiences) were appropriate to the age of the children.
It lends itself extremely well to a special 'treat' to supplement units of work on healthy eating or as part of a collapsed week for a health fair or equivalent.
It is certainly good value for money
